This turning mandrel features a 1/2” diameter shoulder, making it ideal for use with some of our smaller turning kits, including our Measuring Spoon and Measuring Cup Turning Hardware Kits (72964 and 78976, sold separately). The smooth shaft is secured in your lathe drill chuck, while the 8-32 threaded post screws into your turning kit hardware.
Turning Mandrel Details:
- Just thread blank, with insert installed, onto mandrel, bring up tailstock support and turn!
- Shoulder on mandrel matches diameter of hardware shoulder, so you get a smooth transition from handle to hardware
- Requires use of lathe drill chuck with Morse taper to fit your lathe (see GRP683_1, sold separately)—drill chuck holds the smooth shaft of the mandrel
- 8-32 x 1/2″ long threaded post fits inserts from our smaller turning kits, including our Measuring Spoon and Measuring Cup Turning Hardware Kits (72964 and 78976, sold separately)
